The trades industry has been disproportionately affected by staffing shortages due to a lack of skilled labor as a result of the removal of occupational courses in high schools. The LIME Foundation is committed to bridging this gap through the NextGen Trades Academy.
2022 has been a year of growth for the LIME Foundation. We welcomed our first All-Female cohort to the NextGen Trades Academy, Moved to our new office and training facility, and reached students from all over the Bay Area.
In 2023, we want to come back with more impact than ever. COVID-19 has kept our classes online for the past 3 years, but we are ready to re-open our doors. With our new NextGen Trades Academy Training facility, students will once again be able to experience even more hands-on learning. While our time on zoom allowed us to reach a larger community, we are excited to be able to shape the lives and pathways of our students in an immersive experience once again. This does come with a higher cost per student, and we want to ensure that our courses are equitably available to all who need them.
This is where you come in. The increased cost of an in-person cohort means that we need your help now more than ever. Please consider donating and making this dream a reality.
